JSK vs MICT, Match 4: Venue Analysis

The track at The iconic Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg has been a belter over the years. Many high-scoring encounters have taken place at this venue in the past. The surface is expected to be batting-friendly for this one as well.

JSK vs MICT, Match 4 - Toss Factor

Chasing is always a favourable option at the Wanderers. Having a target in front is the best option at this stadium and the skipper winning the toss may look to do the same.

Scenario: If Joburg Super Kings Fields First

Gerald Coetzee and Nandre Burger are the upcoming supremely talented seam bowlers in South Africa. The duo played a lot of international cricket recently and now will want to make a mark in SA20. The Super Kings would hope that they provide regular wickets while Moeen Ali is also there in the ranks. Batting will rely on captain Faf du Plessis and Reeza Hendricks.

Scenario: If MICT Fields First

Speedster Kagiso Rabada bowled a good spell of 2/23 in three overs against Durban Super Giants in the last match of the ongoing season. The English pair of Sam Curran and Olly Stone will have to step up and support Rabada in this fixture. Wicketkeeper batter Ryan Rickelton looked in great touch as he along with Rassie van der Dussen holds the key in a run-chase.

JSK vs MICT, Match 4 - Top Captain and Vice-captain choices

Scenario: If MICT Fields First

Rassie van der Dussen (MICT)

Rassie van der Dussen looked in good nick in MI's opening fixture against the Giants. The right-handed opening batter struck 24 off 20 with one four and one maximum. Rassie will look to convert his start into a substantial score this time around especially if the Super Kings are chasing a big target.

Ryan Rickelton (MICT)

As mentioned above, wicketkeeper batter Ryan Rickelton played a solid knock against the Giants. The left-handed player smashed 87 off just 51 which included six fours and as many maximums and at a strike rate of 171. Rickelton would hope to continue his solid form and guide him side home in a big run-chase.

Scenario: If JSK Fields First

Faf du Plessis (JSK)

Faf du Plessis will again lead the Joburg Super Kings franchise in this edition of SA20. The experienced campaigner and right-handed player is a top-order batter and a leader. The 39-year old will like to give his side a perfect start and lead them from the front by playing a significant knock at their home ground. Faf was also the second highest run-getter in the inaugural season of SA20 with 369 runs.

Reeza Hendricks (JSK)

Reeza Hendricks struck close to 250 runs for the Super Kings in the last edition. The right-handed player is an opener and gives aggressive starts. The 34-year old is a crucial and vital cog in this batting line-up along with his skipper Faf. The Super Kings will rely on him to do the job right at the top of the order.

JSK vs MICT, Match 4 - Big Risk, Big Return Choices

Moeen Ali (JSK)

England all-rounder Moeen Ali is a utility player in any side. The 36-year old veteran gives all-round option with both bat and ball. The spinner has been economical and also managed to pick up wickets across formats. His batting has not been that consistent but he would hope to turn it around and deliver a notable performance in this fixture.

Dewald Brevis (MICT)

Youngster Dewald Brevis has a solid future ahead of him considering his talent and potential. The 20-year old hard-hitting batter got dismissed for just five against the Giants last time out. Brevis is a risky but worthy pick considering his position too as he batted higher up the order at no. three against Durban.
