The 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL) is gearing up towards the peak and match six will see Karachi Kings square off against Peshawar Zalmi at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore. It's the battle of the wooden spoon and the game is slated to begin at 7:30 PM IST.

The Kings were terrible with the bat in the last game against the Multan Sultans as they lost by a 50-plus runs margin. Meanwhile, the Zalmi’s have had a similar run with a loss in their first match of the season against Quetta Gladiators by 16 runs.

KAR vs PES- Toss Factor

The surface at Multan is good for batting and the pacers find it difficult to get quick wickets. The spinners does not get assist at the early half of the tournament here. The bat comes well on to the bat and it's more like a flat deck.

Scenario: If Karachi Kings field first

The Karachi Kings have a very good side on paper but executed in a complete opposite way in their last match. Their bowlers have to do a good job to restrict the opposition while the management will expect a lot from international stars such as James Vince, Shan Masood, Kieron Pollard and Daniel Sams.

Scenario: If Peshawar  Zalmi fields first

The Babar Azam-led unit have some match-winners in the form of the captain himself, Mohammad Haris, Saim Ayub, Tom Kohler-Cadmore, etc.  However, the middle and lower order failed to step up in the last game but it should not rule out their match-winning capability.

Scenario: If Karachi Kings field first

Babar Azam (PES): The Pakistan batter scored 68 off 42 balls in the last game and is the leading run-getter in the history of the mega-event. Azam is a stable batter at the top of the order and one can rely on him to maintain his consistency.

Daniel Sams (KAR): The Australian all-rounder was in good form with both bat and the ball during the recently concluded Big Bash League.  Sams has a good repertoire of varying pace and flummoxing the opposition batters. 


Scenario: If Peshawar Zalmi fields first

Shoaib Malik (KAR):  The veteran is ageing like a fine wine. He has been sensational with the bat in the last game and scored a fifty when other batters failed to tackle the bowling heat from the counterparts.  Malik can also be handy with his finger spin.

Saim Ayub (PES): The top-order attacking batter is one of the talented youngsters in the ongoing mega-event.  Ayub scored a 26-ball 42 in the last game and will look to continue with the same momentum.


KAR vs PES- High Risk, High Reward 

Aamer Jamal (PES): The all-rounder was in terrific form with both bat and ball in his recent national outings. Jamal recently scalped a fifer during the Bangladesh Premier League as well. In addition, he can be more than efficient in playing the lower order cameos.

Mohammad Nawaz (KAR): The left-arm spin bowling all-rounder can be pivotal with his role with both bat and ball. Although he hasn't been in great form offlate but he has the ability to outshine the opposition with his all-round skills.
