Will Dua Lipa Really Perform At Cricket World Cup 2023 Closing Ceremony In Ahmedabad?

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) partnership with the International Cricket Council (ICC) is leaving no stone unturned to make the closing ceremony of the upcoming Cricket World Cup 2023 on Sunday at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad an extravaganza affair. 

The final, which will be played between hosts and two-time winners India and five-time champions Australia will already see the presence of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

As reported by Dainik Jagran, international pop star Dua Lipa is expected to perform live in the stadium as well, she has earlier performed in other sporting events, namely the UEFA Champions League. However, there have been reports surfacing that the Albanian singer won't travel to India for the showpiece event. 

Lipa, a three-time Grammy Award winner first performed in India in 2019 and since has been a hit between fans, having also interacted with Bollywood Superstar Shah Rukh Khan. 

Reports suggest that authorities have also extended an invitation to Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese. 

Meanwhile, as confirmed earlier, the Indian Air Force's (IAF) Suryakiran Aerobatic Team will also conduct an air show above the venue, which will take place 10 minutes before the start of play. 

Several Bollywood, Tollywood, and Lollywood celebrities have also been invited, which include the likes of Amitabh Bachchan, and Rajnikanth.
