The Indian team is currently in Sri Lanka for the Asia Cup 2023. They will be playing their first game of Super 4s on Sunday against the men in Green, Pakistan. Both games of India were washed out but now ACC have kept a reserve day for India vs Pakistan as there are chances of rain on that day.
Amidst the tournament, India's opener Shubman Gill turned 24 and celebrated his birthday with the team. The Indian team had a practice session as it was a sunny day in Colombo. The young Shubman has been selected as a first-choice opener for the upcoming World Cup 2023.
In the first game of the Asia Cup, the right-hander could not keep going and got out struggling against Pakistan's seamers. But against Nepal in the second game, Gill played an exceptional knock of over 60 runs and got his rhythm back.

Kuldeep Yadav, the only wrist spinner in the Indian set-up, took Twitter (X) to share an image and a video of the team celebrating Shubman's birthday. Kuldeep wished him to post the picture and the video.
In the video, you can see Ishan Kishan, Axar Patel and Mohammed Siraj preparing to smash cake on his face. Kuldeep also posted a picture of Gill's face covered with the cake. These small celebrations and things lift the mood of the dressing room. In these kinds of tournaments, these little banters help in keeping a healthy environment in the dressing room.
