Pakistan, the co-hosts of the six-team event, are known for producing hostile fast bowlers over the years. Despite entering the game as the dark horses, the men in green have stunned India a few times recently, recording their first-ever World Cup victory over the arch-rivals in the 2021 edition. 

Meanwhile, ahead of the Asia Cup, Indian captain Rohit Sharma has picked the toughest bowler from Pakistan, albeit in a cheeky manner. In a Q&A event in the USA, Sharma, when asked to name the most challenging Pakistani bowler to face, addressed everyone as good seamers, being reluctant to pick a single name to avoid controversy. The manner in which Sharma said it caused laughter in the conclave.

Although Sharma hasn't been impressive against Pakistan in T20Is, he has played several noteworthy innings in the ODI format. In 16 innings, the Indian captain has slammed 720 ODI runs, including two hundreds, versus Pakistan at an average of 51.43. 

India and Pakistan will take on each other in the third fixture of the tournament on September 2 in Kandy.
