Break time is over for India ODI skipper Rohit Sharma, who has departed for Rajkot, and will regroup with the team for the third and final match of the ongoing 50-overs series against Australia.

Sharma will take over the reins from stand-in skipper KL Rahul, under whom Team India have gained an unassailable 2-0 lead, and will look to head into the World Cup 2023 on the No.1 Ranked ODI side.

The 36-year-old took a flight from Mumbai on Tuesday morning and was seen with his wife Ritika Sajdeh at the domestic airport, who came to drop of the Indian captain. Sajdeh was mostly seated in the car. 

However, in a moment of affection, Ritika and Rohit shared an intimate moment before the Indian skipper departed for Rajkot.

Apart from Sharma, former skipper Virat Kohli also left for Rajkot from Mumbai this morning and has already reached the city. Other players like Jasprit Bumrah and Kuldeep Yadav will also re-group with the squad today.

Post the conclusion of the ODI series, Team India will start their preparations for the World Cup 2023 and will head off to Guwahati, where they will meet England in their first warm-up on September 30.

India's second warm-up will be against the Netherlands on October 3 at Thiruvananthapuram before they play five-time champions Australia in their first WC match on October 8 at Chennai.
