In a recent episode of Shubhankar Mishra's YouTube podcast, Bollywood actors Riteish Deshmukh and Saqib Saleem shared their thoughts on the enduring debate between Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya.

The discussion centered on who holds the title of "Mumbai Kaa Raja" between the two cricketing stars.

Riteish Deshmukh, expressing his admiration, declared that although Hardik Pandya is the current captain of the Mumbai Indians, Rohit Sharma will always be regarded as Mumbai’s true king.

This statement reflects a deep-seated appreciation for Rohit, who has made a significant impact both in the IPL and international cricket.

Under Rohit's leadership, the Mumbai Indians achieved remarkable success, winning multiple IPL titles.

In stark contrast, Hardik Pandya's recent season as captain saw the Mumbai Indians struggle, ending the IPL season at the bottom of the points table. Despite this, Pandya’s contribution to India’s T20 World Cup victory alongside Rohit remains noteworthy.

Rohit Sharma, who led India to a historic T20 World Cup win and an unbeaten run throughout the tournament, retired from T20I cricket alongside Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja.

Hardik Pandya was expected to succeed him as the T20I captain. However, the BCCI’s appointment of Gautam Gambhir as head coach led to Suryakumar Yadav being named the new T20I captain for the Sri Lanka tour, starting July 27.
