In a recent development, Shubman Gill has set the social media abuzz with his latest picture donning the team’s new jersey. While fans flooded the post with admiration and comments, it was former cricketer Yuvraj Singh’s cheeky comment that stole the spotlight.  

The veteran all-rounder, known for his humour and camaraderie with younger players, could not resist pulling Gill’s leg over his hairstyle. Yuvraj Singh, in a playful Punjabi quip, commented, "Te eh baalan da ki karna?" which translates to "What's wrong with the hairstyle?" His witty remark went viral in no times. The comment left the fans in splits and highlighting the strong bond between the two cricketers.

Gill To Lead India’s Top Order In England ODIs

Beyond social media banter, Shubman Gill is also gearing up for India and England first ODI at Nagpur’s Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium on February 6. With senior batters Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma struggling for form, the 25-year-old will be under added pressure to provide strong starts at the top.  Talking about Gill's ODI stats, he has played 47 matches and made 2328 runs at an average of 58.20 and a strike rate of 101.74. 

As vice-captain, Gill is not only expected to lead the batting charge in the England series but will also groomed for a bigger role in the ICC Champions Trophy, set to take place in Pakistan and the UAE. His performances in this series will be closely watched as India fine-tunes its squad for the marquee event.
