Afridi slams BCCI over Champions Trophy standoff

The uncertainty surrounding the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy dominated cricket headlines before PCB agreed for a hybrid model as India refused to travel to Pakistan over security reasons.

Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi came out in support of PCB’s stance, taking aim at the BCCI and called the ICC to intervene. He stated in his release that since the tragic 26/11 attacks, Pakistan has toured India five times and has played a bilateral series as well.

Afridi questioned how it could be considered fair for BCCI not to send the Indian team to Pakistan citing political tensions and security issues. However, ICC sided with BCCI as India's matches is set to be hosted at a neutral venue.
