Pakistan star pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi, who became a father last year, introduced his son Aliyaar Afridi to the public for the very first time during a PSL 2025 match on April 16 against Karachi Kings.

Shaheen Afridi Celebrates Win With Son Aliyaar

After helping his team Lahore Qalandars win the match by 65 runs, Shaheen celebrated the victory on the field with his son. The heartwarming moment was captured on camera and quickly went viral on social media.

Shaheen is married to Ansha Afridi, daughter of former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi. Their baby boy, Aliyaar, was born in August 2024. At the time of his son’s birth, Shaheen was playing a Test match for Pakistan against Bangladesh in Rawalpindi. After the match ended (which Pakistan lost by 10 wickets), he flew to Karachi to meet his newborn son and wife. Later, he posted a picture with his son on X (formerly Twitter), writing:

“This moment changes everything! My heart is full and my life just got a whole lot better. 24/08/2024 will always be special to us. Welcome to the world my son, Aliyaar Afridi.”

Shaheen is currently the captain of Lahore Qalandars, who are doing well in the PSL. They are in 2nd place on the points table with 2 wins out of 3 matches, earning 4 points and a strong +2.051 Net Run Rate (NRR). Their next match is against Multan Sultans on April 22.
