The charming tale took an even sweeter turn when Rohit's wife, Ritika Sajdeh, shared an endearing picture on Instagram. The photograph captured their daughter, Samaira, donning the Messi jersey with a beaming smile. Ritika's caption expressed gratitude towards Beckham for making their little Messi fan extremely happy.

This exchange came in the wake of Rohit's remarkable performance, leading India to a stunning 70-run victory over New Zealand in the World Cup 2023 semifinal. 

The Indian skipper was seen wearing Beckham's Real Madrid jersey during a notable meeting at Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium, where Beckham himself sported the Indian team jersey from the World Cup 2023.

Beckham, attending the semifinal as a UNICEF brand ambassador, also interacted with Indian cricket legends like Sachin Tendulkar and congratulated Virat Kohli on his record-breaking century. Post-match, he gifted Rohit his signed Real Madrid jersey, marking a memorable exchange between two of the world's most renowned sports icons.

Meanwhile, Rohit is now gearing up to lead India in the much-anticipated World Cup 2023 final against Australia on November 19 in Ahmedabad.
