Megan Schutt Confirms Separation From Wife; Pens Emotional Note On Personal Crisis

Australia Women fast bowler Megan Schutt has confirmed her separation from wife Jess Holyoake. In an emotional Instagram post, the 32-year-old cricketer shared that the couple had experienced a difficult period, but they will continue to co-parent for their daughter Rylee.

Both Schutt and Jess married back in March 2019 after dating for several years. In 2021, the couple welcomed their first child.

From Partners To Co-Parents As Schutt, Jess Part Ways

In a social media post that deeply resonated with fans across the world, Australia Women fast bowler Megan Schutt has confirmed her separation with wife Jess Holyoake. Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, July 29; the cricketer recalled her time together with Jess, calling it a journey filled with “amazing memories”.

However, the speedster added that they started experiencing a difficult period together. In spite of confirming her split, Megan Schutt added that both she and Jess Holyoake will continue to stay in touch and build a healthy relationship to co-parent their daughter Rylee.

Megan Schutt has been a long-time advocate for equality, and has often spoken about her journey as a same-sex couple in the public. The cricketer was also one of the earliest supporters of same-sex marriages in Australia.

Amidst the personal changes off the field, Schutt remains focused on her professional commitments and is set to return to action for Australia soon. The 32-year-old will likely be a part of the Australian Women cricket team that will tour India in a couple of months’ time for a three-match ODI series.

The three matches will be hosted by the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in New Chandigarh and the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi between September 14 and September 20.
