In a bid to revamp the system, Yorkshire has begun its search for a new head coach and six non-executive directors. After the county faced flak for the handling of allegations raised by Azeem Rafiq on racism, Andrew Gale, their former head coach, was fired along with the entire coaching staff.
Yorkshire's director of cricket Martyn Moxon quit due to stress-related illness and had to leave his post, which is now filled by Darren Gough on an interim basis till the 2022 season.
Yorkshire County Cricket Club confirmed the news on Friday on Twitter. "Yorkshire County Cricket Club today announces an open call for applications for both its Head Coach and a number of Non-Executive Director positions on its Board," the tweet read.
"There is a lot of work to be done to ensure that Yorkshire County Cricket Club is a club for everyone. We are committed to fostering excellence throughout the team, and we need people at the club who believe in the process we are undertaking and want to be part of it," the new Yorkshire chair Lord Kamlesh Patel stated.
He further commented on the roles advertised by Yorkshire County Cricket Club. "The roles we are advertising today will play a crucial part in the development of an inclusive and welcoming culture that learns from the past and welcomes progress. We want to attract the very best applications from a range of backgrounds to join us, and I look forward to meeting with potential candidates over the coming weeks," he concluded.
