Afghanistan have been a force to reckon with in the Asia Cup 2022. The team has produced two back-to-back stunning performances to top the Group B points table. They defeated Sri Lanka in the curtain-raiser by eight wickets.
It was a terrific all-rounder performance by the Mohammad Nabi-led side. Afghanistan restricted Sri Lanka to a score of 105 runs with Fazalhaq Farooqui picking three wickets. Chasing the total, they won in 10.1 overs only as Rahmanullah Gurbaz smacked 40 runs off just 18 balls.
The team repeated its heroics against Bangladesh as well. Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Rashid Khan picked three wickets each to stop Bangladesh at 127 runs. With the bat, Ibrahim Zadran and Najibullah were the star performers as they propelled the team to victory by seven wickets.
