Rajkot will host India-England Test from Feb 15-19 [X.com]
With under 24 hours before the commencement of the third Test between India and England at Rajkot, former England captain Michael Atherton provided the first glimpse of the all-important pitch of the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium.
With the five-Test series tied at 1-1, the third encounter becomes extremely crucial for both teams, as the winner will gain the edge heading into the final two matches. Atherton, who is in India for commentary, took to the social media platform 'X' and shared a first look at the pitch at Rajkot.
"Extra seamer seems sensible for England. Here’s the pitch at Rajkot, one day out," Atherton wrote while sharing the picture of the pitch on X.

On eve of the Test, England named their XI, which consisted of James Anderson and Mark Wood, who played in first and second Test, respectively. The spinning duties will be carried out by Rehan Ahmed, and Tom Hartley, with Joe Root acting as third spinner.
So far, in the series, England have relied mostly on their spinners, which have yielded mixed results, where Ben Stokes and Co. won the first Test, and lost the second game.
Meanwhile, Anderson, who is touring India for the sixth time, will be eager to notch up the 700-Test wicket mark, currently sitting on 695 from 184 matches.
