The Punjab Kings Vs Delhi Capitals IPL 2025 match was going smoothly, up until the 10th over mark of Punjab's innings when the unthinkable happened and the match was suspended. The game was called-off due to security reasons as there were terror attack incidents in Jammu and Kashmir and Dharamsala was not far away from it.
PTI also reported that match was abandoned due to air raid alerts in nearby areas, which forced a blackout in Dharamsala. Now, the big question arises, will IPL be suspended?. What will happen to the league?.
Will IPL 2025 be suspended? Here are the scenarios
First and foremost, at the moment, an official board meeting is going on of the IPL governing body and an official statement regarding the future of IPL could be revealed tomorrow morning.
Scenario 1
IPL could be suspended temporarily till further notice. There is a war-like situation between India and Pakistan and players' safety is a major concern. Hence, the event could be suspended and could be resumed once the situation gets better. Similar thing happened during Covid-19 time when the league was on hold and it resumed in September-October.
Scenario 2
A full-fledged war hasn't started yet, and hence, instead of playing across different venues, the remaining matches could be contested in one or two venues at max, so that the players won't have to travel much. This could be tested for a week and if the situation gets worse the league could be suspended.
