A couple of days after claiming a comfortable victory over Bangladesh in the first Test, West Indies retake the field to finish the business. The hosts claimed an emphatic seven-wicket win over Bangladesh in Antigua and took a 1-0 lead in the two-match Test series.

Kemar Roach stole the show for the West Indies, picking a five-wicket haul in the second innings. The veteran pacer was awarded the player of the match award for having seven scalps to his name in the first Test. 

West Indian head coach Phil Simmons was full of praise for the positive energy in the camp, as the recent results have buoyed the players.

West Indies came into the series on the back of a 1-0 series victory over England back in March. Hence, Kraigg Braithwaite and Co. have a real opportunity to claim their second consecutive series victory on home soil against an opposition which is clearly under the hammer.

Bangladesh have found itself in an apparent mess in red-ball cricket. The Asian side were obliterated against South Africa, which showed no evident improvement in the series defeat to Sri Lanka. A change in leadership had no effect whatsoever, as Shakib Al Hasan could not inspire Bangladesh to a victory in the first Test against West Indies.

The top order has been a concern for Bangladesh, which came to the floor as a batting collapse against West Indies. However, their bowling attack offered some hope, with Mehidy Hasan taking four wickets in the first innings.

Both teams could go in with the same lineup as the first Test. West Indies should undoubtedly stick to the winning combination unless forced into a change. 

We might see some changes in the visitors’ camp, with Anamul Haque getting the nod ahead of the misfiring Najmul Hossain Shanto. Mustafizur Rahman might also find himself on the bench after an underwhelming performance in the first Test.
