The Champions Trophy 2025 is around the corner, and six of the eight teams have announced their squad for marquee tournament. However, the two big teams, India and Pakistan are yet to announce their squad and there are lot of speculations and debates around the makeup of these teams.
Both of them are highly followed team and Pakistan are the designated hosts of the tournament. However, there is no specific reason for delaying squad announcement, and it is mostly because both teams want to keep their cards close and double-check their best combination ahead of the important tournament.
India And Pakistan Likely To Announce Champions Trophy Squad Soon
The official last date of annoucing the squad was 12th of January, but both teams have asked for extra time and all other teams can make changes to their squad till 2nd of February. Also, recently, there were reports that Pakistan have already submitted their preliminary squad for Champions Trophy to ICC which includes names like Fakhar Zaman and Saim Ayub.
However, there is no clarity about the authenticity of that squad and the final squad is likely to be announced in the next few days. India, on the other hand, might announced their squad around 18-19 January according to the reports floating on social media.
Pakistan recently whitewashed South Africa and Australia in consecutive ODI series and so would be confident of their chances in the Champions Trophy. India, on the other hand, lost their last ODI series against Sri Lanka and would be playing three games in the format against England before Champions Trophy.
