Indian pacer, Prasidh Krishna recently opened up about his cricketing journey, sharing insights and personal anecdotes in a candid conversation on JioCinema's daily show '#AAKASHVANI'. Hosted by renowned commentator and former cricketer Aakash Chopra, the show provided a platform for Krishna to shed light on his early inspirations and experiences in the sport.

Prasidh Krishna reveals his idol and reflected on his journey

Krishna, who has been making waves in the cricket world, attributed his initial fascination with the game to the legendary batter Sachin Tendulkar. He mentioned that Tendulkar was a significant influence in his decision to start watching and playing cricket.

"It should be Sachin Tendulkar. He's the God of cricket. I began watching cricket because of him,” said Krishna on his cricketing idol.

The 27-year-old pacer also reflected on his formative years in cricket. An interesting anecdote emerged when Krishna was asked about the first autograph he received. He recalled a day at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) when he encountered two cricketing stalwarts, Wasim Jaffer and Rahul Dravid. Amidst his excitement, he couldn't clearly recall whose autograph he first obtained, though he leaned towards believing it was Jaffer's signature that was on his cap.

"I think it was Wasim Jaffer or Rahul Dravid. I am confused between the two because it was the day at the NCA when both of them were batting. But I feel it was Wasim Jaffer because I remember the sign on my cap,” added the lanky fast bowler.

Krishna further shared memories of witnessing his first cricket match in the stadium which was between India and Australia at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.

"The India versus Australia Test match at the Chinnaswamy Stadium was the first match I watched live," concluded Krishna.

Currently, a member of India's T20I squad for the series against Australia, Krishna continues to make his mark. In the first T20I on Thursday, Krishna claimed the wicket of Australian batsman Josh Inglis, although his four-over spell did concede 50 runs. He will look to make amends in the second T20I on Sunday in Thiruvananthapuram by putting in a better performance.
