In the upcoming match 47 of IPL 2024, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will host Delhi Capitals (DC) at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Monday, April 29.

Having faced each other 32 times in the IPL, KKR has emerged victorious 16 times, while DC has claimed victory in 15 matches. One encounter ended without a result.

In their previous meeting earlier this month at Vizag, KKR secured a win against DC. Currently, KKR holds the second position in the points table, having won five out of eight matches, whereas DC occupies the fifth spot with 10 points from 10 matches.

After winning the toss, KKR opted to bat first, given the favorable conditions on the pitch. The Kolkata batters capitalized on this decision, with Phil Salt making a brisk start. However, it was Sunil Narine who stole the show, unleashing a barrage of boundaries and sixes. Youngster Angkrish Raghuvanshi, promoted up the order, matched Narine's aggression, adding to Delhi's bowling woes. 

The onslaught continued as every batter who followed found success in finding the fence, with notable contributions from Andre Russell and Rinku Singh. Kolkata amassed a colossal total of 272 runs, the second-highest in the competition's history.

In response, Delhi suffered early setbacks, with Vaibhav Arora, the Impact Player, making an immediate impact by dismissing Prithvi Shaw. Mitchell Starc joined the action, claiming the wickets of his fellow Australians, while Arora secured his second dismissal. Kolkata had a firm grip on the game, holding a significant advantage. 

Despite some impressive hitting from the opposition during the middle phase, KKR's Varun Chakaravarthy chipped in with timely wickets, ensuring a comprehensive victory for his team.
