Ishan Kishan chronicled his seven-season journey with the Mumbai Indians franchise by sharing an emotional tribute on social media. Apart from sharing a minute-long video to cherish his Mumbai Indians memories, the dashing wicketkeeper-batter also bid his farewell to the franchise through a heart-touching message.

Earlier this month, the 26-year-old became one of the many cricketers to be released by the Mumbai Indians franchise, thus prompting him to put himself up at the IPL 2025 mega auction in Saudi Arabia. During the bidding event, the cricketer was sold to the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) franchise for a staggering sum, over five times his base value.

On Thursday, November 28, i.e., a few days after getting roped in by the SRH, Ishan Kishan bid his farewell to the Mumbai Indians franchise by sharing an emotional goodbye post on Instagram. The wicketkeeper-batter thanked the Mumbai Indians team management, coach and all his teammates, and even extended his best wishes for the franchise in their future endeavours.

Moreover, Ishan Kishan also shared a minute-long video to chronicle his best memories with Mumbai Indians, including their title-winning run from 2020 in the UAE.

Ishan Kishan joined the Mumbai Indians franchise prior to IPL 2018, and remained an integral part of the Mumbai-based T20 team until 2024. He played a key role in their 2020 title victory, scoring 516 runs at an average of 57.33 with a strike rate of nearly 146.

The charismatic left-hander also plundered over 400 runs in successive seasons of 2022 and 2023. A veteran of over 100 IPL matches, Kishan has played 89 of them for Mumbai Indians, tallying 2,325 runs in the process, at an average of 29.80.

The Jharkhand-based cricketer will now play for the SRH franchise in IPL 2025, as he was roped in by the ‘Orange Army’ for a sum of Rs.11.25 crore at the mega auction in November.
