Yashasvi Jaiswal was one of the shining lights for India in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 and was the most successful batter in the Test format last year. He displayed great application in tough conditions and has the ability to switch the gears according to format.
There are now speculations that he will make his ODI debut against England, but the focus seems to be on red-ball cricket as the star batter was seen batting during the training session with Mumbai team. In a video released by Star Sports on their official X handle, Yashasvi Jaiswal is seen playing some confident shots off the backfoot and front foot and looked keen to make an impact in the upcoming Ranji games.
International Stars Likely To Play Ranji Trophy
The next round of Ranji Trophy 2024-25 will start on 23rd of January after the end of Vijay Hazare Trophy. Yashasvi is likely to play in that game, but with ODI series against England and Champions Trophy too coming up, there were also reports that selectors want him to take adequate rest after a gruesome BGT.
He is young though and just started playing international cricket, so as the likes of Gill, Pant also get ready for domestic cricket, Jaiswal too looks set to represent his home state. However, there is still doubt over participation of Rohit Sharma for Mumbai. He was also seen practicing with the state team, and there is pressure on him to show up in domestic cricket after poor form at the international level.
Whatever happens, there are likely to be plenty of international stars in action when the Ranji Trophy resumes, and it would help the tournament in gaining more attraction.
