The much-anticipated ODI World Cup will get underway on October 5 in India, and the defending champions, England, who also won the T20 World Cup last year, will take the field to defend the title. They will face off against the 2019 World Cup runners-up, New Zealand, to begin the proceedings in the competition, which will last until November 19.

Last year, England won the T20 World Cup in Australia under Jos Buttler. Prior to that, in 2019, Eoin Morgan was at the helm. However, many English stars, including Ben Stokes and Mark Wood, hold Buttler in high regard due to his distinguished numbers in limited-overs cricket.

Mark Wood and Jos Buttler recently shared their thoughts about Buttler in a video shared by the England Cricket Board (ECB). Wood emphasized Buttler's tendency to "lead by example", while Stokes spoke of his captain's "cool and calm demeanor under pressure."

As a result of their ability to adapt to any situation, Buttler highlighted the team's recent success at the end of the video.

England's first World Cup warm up match against India was washed out on Saturday due to relentless rain at Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati. They will again play at the same venue on Monday, against Bangladesh in their final warm-up fixture.
