Former India captain Virat Kohli is known for backing his players and taking a stand for them. The modern-day great was at it again when a fan, sitting in the stands, was continuously bothering his teammate and youngster Kamlesh Nagarkoti during the warm-up match against Leicestershire.
In a video that has been circulated widely on social media, Kohli can be seen interrogating a spectator who was continuously annoying Nagarkoti. The young pacer was warming up near the boundary line and the fan was repeatedly asking him for a picture.
The 33-year-old, after seeing the spectator misbehaving with Nagarkoti, came outside on his pavilion balcony, and the fan told him that he had taken a leave from his job to attend the match and hence he deserves to get a picture with an Indian youngster.
"I've been continuously asking for a photo. I came here after taking the day off from my office. So, I've been calling Nagarkoti to click a photo with me at least," the fan can be heard saying in Hindi in a video doing the rounds on social media.
To this, Kohli responded that the 22-year-old had come to play the match and not to click pictures.
"He is here to play the match, and not to click photos," Virat Kohli replied.
While the remaining part of the video is not audible, the fans hailed Virat Kohli for taking a stand for his teammate.
