Covid-hit Sydney Sixers sent assistant coach Jay Lenton out in the 22-yards in the final ball of the match against Adelaide Strikers on Wednesday 26 January.
Drafted into the game due to the lack of numbers in the Sixers side, Lenton was sent in the last ball of the game in place of Jordan Silk, who had pulled up. Sixers wanted a fresh runner in the nerve-wracking last ball of the game and this left several members of the Strikers team fuming, but they could not do anything about it.
Drama unleashed in the final ball as all rounder Hayden Kerr, who was promoted to open the batting in place of Covid-hit Joshua Philippe, chipped the ball to mid-wicket and called for a two.
They went comfortably in the end after a misfield at the edge of the boundary that granted them four runs.
