KL Rahul will reportedly be making his return to India’s limited-overs setup for their upcoming white-ball tour of Sri Lanka. A couple of weeks prior to the series, the cricketer was spotted offering his prayers at the Bappanadu Sri Durga Parameshwari Temple in Mangaluru alongside his wife and Bollywood actress Athiya Shetty.

KL Rahul recently led the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) franchise in the IPL 2024 season.

On July 14, Indian wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul was spotted at the Bappanadu Sri Durga Parameshwari Temple in Karnataka’s Mangaluru. The 32-year-old cricketer was also accompanied by his wife and Bollywood actress Athiya Shetty.

KL Rahul last played an international match for Team India back in January this year during the series-opening first Test match against the visiting Englishmen in Hyderabad. While the elegant right-hander scored an attacking 86 in the first innings of the match, an injury ruled him out of the remainder of the series.

Quite recently, KL Rahul led the LSG franchise in the IPL 2024 season in India. As part of his repeated T20I snubs, the cricketer was overlooked from India’s squad for the 2024 T20 World Cup in the West Indies and the USA.

As of now, the wicketkeeper-batter is reportedly considered for an international comeback for India’s upcoming white-ball tour of Sri Lanka. Moreover, KL Rahul might even lead the Indian team for the ODI segment of the tour.

Team India is scheduled to face Sri Lanka in a series of three T20Is and as many ODI matches between July 27 and August 7 across Pallekele and Colombo.
