In a notable move, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have appointed former cricketer Dinesh Karthik as their batting coach and team mentor for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) season. The announcement was made through RCB's official handle on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter).

Karthik's transition from player to coach comes after he decided to end his IPL career earlier this year following an impressive season with RCB, where he scored 326 runs in 15 matches at an average of 36.22 and a strike rate of 187.35, including two half-centuries and a top score of 83. 


Dinesh Karthik Opines After His Appointment As Batting Coach For RCB 

After being appointed as the batting coach, Dinesh Karthik expressed himself and stated that he feels great to continue his journey with RCB, this time not as a player but as a mentor and batting coach. He also expressed his gratitude and thanked the RCB fans for their constant support. 

The 39-year-old, who made his ODI debut for India as a 19-year-old back in 2004, has vast batting experience of over two decades during which he played 26 Tests, 94 One-Day Internationals and 60 T20 Internationals for India. 

He also featured in 257 IPL games, scoring an aggregate of 4842 runs, including 22 fifties.

Karthik's extensive experience and successful IPL career are expected to be invaluable to RCB as they prepare for the upcoming season. His role as batting coach and mentor will likely play a crucial part in guiding and developing the team's batting lineup.
