Former wicket-keeper batsman Vijay Dahiya will be a part of the Lucknow franchise in the Indian Premier League as the assistant coach.
"I am delighted and grateful for the opportunity given to me to work with the Lucknow IPL franchise," Dahiya said in a statement.
Dahiya is presently working as the coach of the UP team while has worked as an assistant coach of Kolkata Knight Riders franchise. The KKR have been crowned champions of the IPL twice.
The Lucknow franchise which is owned by RPSG Group had earlier appointed Andy Flower as head coach and Gautam Gambhir as the mentor.
"I am incredibly excited to be joining the new Lucknow franchise and I am very grateful for the opportunity. Since my very first tour to India in 1993, I have always loved touring, playing and coaching in India," Flower had said earlier in a statement.
"I will relish the challenge to build something meaningful and successful with the Lucknow franchise, I am looking forward to meeting the management and staff when I visit Uttar Pradesh in the new year,” he added.
