Twitter Reacts as Watson, Du Plessis' record-breaking stand sets up a win for CSK

Shane Watson and Faf du Plessis put up a robust performance to bag 2 points as Chennai Super Kings beat Kings XI Punjab by 10 wickets. For the first time, a side has won the game while chasing in Dubai this season.

It was also the second-highest chase in IPL history without losing a wicket. KXIP would regret not adding 20 more runs to the total. Post the forgettable game for Punjab, skipper KL Rahul admitted that they thought 178 would be a good total on the slowish track. Nicholas Pooran made a 17-ball 33 while Mayank Agarwal and Mandeep Singh got starts. But it was Rahul, whose 63 got the side to a fighting total.

The Chennai unit was desperate for a win, having lost multiple games while chasing. Tonight, they ticked all the boxes with a resounding win - they crossed the finishing line with 14 balls to spare.

Watson made an unbeaten 83* off 53 balls while Du Plessis faced an equal number of deliveries and scored an unbeaten 87*. Leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi was the most economical bowler out of the entire pack for Punjab. The youngster conceded 33 runs in his 4 overs. KXIP now finds themselves at the bottom of the points table, having lost four out of five games. On the other hand, CSK has moved up to the sixth spot with 4 points on board.
