The Tamil Nadu Premier League will stage its second double-header of the season on Thursday when Siechem Madurai Panthers (SMP) lock horns with Lyca Kovai Kings (LKK) in the 8th match of the tournament. The exciting T20 encounter will take place at the NPR College Ground, Dindigul, India.  

Both the teams have played one match so far in the season and witnessed a contrasting start to their campaign. Siechem Madurai Panthers have won their first match of the season and are currently placed in second position in the points tally.  

It was a fantastic bowling display from the Panthers as they restricted the Chepuak Super Gillies to the low total of 135 for 8 in 20 overs. Kiran Akash and Varun Chakravarthy were the top contributors with the ball, having picked up 3 and 2 wickets respectively. SMP, in reply, chased down the total in 18.1 overs and 4 wickets in hand.  

Lyca Kovai Kings, on the other hand, despite putting up a mammoth target of 189 on the board, succumbed to 5 wickets defeat against Dindigul Dragons in their opening fixture. Their bowlers were taken to the cleaners by DD batters as they failed to bowl at the right line and lengths.  

Skipper Shahrukh Khan was the pick of the bowlers for the Kings as he scalped two wickets while conceding 35 runs in his quota of 4 overs. Divakar also got a couple of wickets but he was pretty expensive with his spell as he gave away 39 runs in 3.4 overs. 

After losing their last match despite putting up a good show with the bat, the Kovai Kings will be desperate to secure a victory in this match and open their winning account in the tournament.
