In what comes as a shocker, Lauren Bell, tall and talented fast bowler of England, remained unsold in the WPL 2025 season's auction. However, she used the rejection as fuel to prove herself. Bell dismantled South Africa Women in a recent Test match by scalping two consecutive four-wicket hauls.

Lauren Bell, 6 feet tall, with her sparkling smile and dimpled cheeks, captured millions of hearts. Still, with an ever-increasing fan base and the incredible performances she displayed in 2024, there were no takers for the 23-year-old at the WPL 2025 auction. Bell, whose base price was INR 30 lakh, came up during the name. However, to everyone's surprise, no franchise came forward to sign her.

She used the rejection as fuel against the South African women in a recent Test match at Mangaung Oval. In the first innings, Bell destroyed the batting lineup of South Africa, bowling with figures of 4/49. Her tall stature and swing made her take out extra bounce and disturb the batters regularly.

She was equally merciless in the second innings, taking four wickets for just 27 runs. Her clinical performance made her the highest wicket-taker of the match and played an important role in England's comprehensive 286-run win.

That apart, Lauren Bell was in the UP Warriorz team for the first season of WPL but was not given a chance to play. Injuries kept her out of the second season, and Chamari Atapattu replaced her. Despite the exclusion from the WPL, her international career is going very well, as she has taken 72 international wickets across formats.

While the snub remains an enigma in WPL 2025, with that same skill and charisma Lauren Bell's time in the limelight is far from over.
