The schedule for the T20 World Cup 2022 has been released and arch-rivals India and Pakistan will be up against each other on October 23 at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground.
The teams have been divided into two groups with Group A comprising of Australia, New Zealand, England, Afghanistan, A1, B2 and Group 2 has India, Pakistan, South Africa, Bangladesh, B1, A2.
The competition's preliminary rounds will begin on October 16, 2022 with Sri Lanka taking on Namibia in Geelong. The Super 12s stage is scheduled to commence on October 23, 2022, while the final will be played at the MCG on November 13.
Sydney and Adelaide will be hosting the two semi-finals respectively.
Australia are the defending champions after they lifted the trophy in the 2021 edition while India suffered their first-ever defeat in a World Cup fixture against Pakistan.
