The first day of the T20 Blast 2022 will see the Yorkshire Vikings taking on Worcestershire Rapids on Wednesday (May 25) at Headingley Cricket Ground, Leeds.
Last year, Yorkshire had an average season as they finished off at the second spot in the North Group with nine wins in 14 matches. However, they will be without the services of Jonny Bairstow as he has just returned from the IPL and is on a short break before joining the team. David Willey is also not available for this match as he is currently in India with RCB.
Albeit the big names are missing from the Yorkshire line-up, some potential players are in their arsenal. Dawid Malan, Joe Root, Tom-Kohler Cadmore, and Harry Brooks will handle the batting duties, while Adil Rashid, Shadab Khan and Haris Rauf will make up the core of the bowling line-up.
On the other hand, Worcestershire finished at the 5th spot in the same group as Yorkshire and couldn't proceed to the knockouts. This time they'll be looking for a better season.
Worcestershire will be missing the services of their key players Moeen Ali and Dwayne Bravo as they too returned from India and will join the team after a brief pause. Instead, Jack Haynes, Jake Libby, Tom Fell, Pat Brown, Ed Barnard, and Dillon Pennington are the players to look out for Worcestershire.
