T20 Blast 2022 | WAS vs NOR | Preview, Prediction, Probable XI, CREX XI

Warwickshire will be up against Northamptonshire in the fourth match of the English T20 Blast 2022 on Thursday (May 26) at Edgbaston in Birmingham.

Warwickshire didn't have the best of seasons last year as they finished the league stage at the fourth spot with seven wins from 14 games. They proceeded to the knockouts of the competition but faced an early exit as Kent handed them a 21-run defeat in the quarter-final of the tournament.

Led by Carlos Braithwaite, Warwickshire will be without the services of their ace all-rounder Chris Woakes for the first few games. Ireland's Paul Stirling and Australia's Nathan McAndrew are some notable signings for the Birmingham Bears this year.

On the other hand, Northamptonshire had a forgetful season last year as they finished at the bottom of the North Group standings with just 4 wins across 13 matches. They will be hoping for a better performance this time around.

Their recent signing, New Zealand's Jimmy Neesham, will not be available for the early part of the tournament as he is currently in India with the Rajasthan Royals. However, Will Young, Chris Lynn and Matt Kelly make up a decent overseas core for Northamptonshire.

Match Details:

Pitch Report: There will be plenty of swing and seam movement in the early hours of the game, and the batters need to spend some time before going for big hits. We witnessed some high scoring matches last year at this venue, and the same trend can be expected in this season as well.
