Yorkshire managing director of Cricket Darren Gough has confirmed the availability of Shadab Khan and Dominic Drakes for the T20 Blast Finals Day.
The Finals Day is all set to take place on July 16, with Yorkshire facing Lancashire in the first semifinal.
Dominic Drakes was initially drafted as a cover for Shadab Khan. The West Indian spinner has had a productive campaign so far, picking up eight wickets in just four games. Meanwhile, Shadab Khan played a crucial part in Yorkshire’s quarter-final victory over Surrey.
The Pakistan all-rounder scored 21 off 12 balls and also picked up two wickets. New Zealand batter Finn Allen will miss out on the Finals Day. The opening batter is currently a part of the Kiwi touring part to Ireland.
Yorkshire to miss out on key English stars
Yorkshire could be without a few of their top guns for the Finals Day. The likes of captain David Willey, Joe Root, Dawid Malan, Jonny Bairstow and Harry Brook are all a part of the England squad for the ongoing ODI series against India.
The final ODI will be held on July 17 in Manchester. It seems uncertain that the aforementioned players will be available on Finals Day.
Yorkshire won the quarter-finals by the barest of margins, defeating Surrey by just one run. Jordan Thompson bowled a brilliant final over, conceding just three runs to defend five.
As far as Finals Day is concerned, Yorkshire and Lancashire will compete in the first semifinal. The second semifinal will be played between Hampshire and Somerset, with the final scheduled to start at 6:45 PM Local Time.
