Sunrisers Hyderabad To Get A New Home? Telangana CM Announces New Stadium In Hyderabad

In a delight for cricket fans in Hyderabad, Telangana CM A. Revanth Reddy has announced a new cricket stadium in the state. 

Speaking to the State Assembly, Reddy remarked that the government have held initial talks with BCCI in regards to a new stadium on the outskirts of Hyderabad. 

SRH to get a new stadium?

At present, Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad hosts international games and is also the home of Sunrisers Hyderabad. 

Meanwhile, Telangana CM didn't reveal further details of the proposed stadium, but made his intentions clear of promoting sports in the state. 

 “We will soon announce sports policy,” he said. Revanth Reddy mentioned that Rs 321 crore was allocated for sports in the state budget for 2024-25.

The Telangana government also alloted 600 square yards of house sites each to shooter Esha Singh, two-time world boxing champion Nikhat Zareen, and international cricketer Mohammed Siraj as a gesture for youngsters to take up sports. 

Meanwhile, talking about Siraj, after he returned to his home town following the T20 World Cup triumph, he was felicitated by the CM. 

Talking about SRH, they recently opposed the idea of mega-auction in the recently concluded meeting between BCCI and IPL owners.
