'Stuart Broad End' To Be Officially Unveiled At Trent Bridge Ahead Of 2nd Test Vs WI

Trent Bridge, Nottingham, is set to officially unveil the Stuart Broad End during the second Test between England and West Indies on Thursday, July 18.

This ceremony, marking the renaming of the Pavilion End, will honour one of England's greatest fast bowlers, Stuart Broad, who retired after last year's Ashes series against Australia on a winning note.

Unveiling Ceremony Details

The official plaque unveiling will take place before the start of the day's play, with fans advised to be in their seats by 10:40 am local time.

Trent Bridge's statement reads, "Ticket-holders for day one of the Trent Bridge Test are advised to take their seats by 10.40 am as we officially rename the Pavilion End of our venue in honour of Stuart Broad."

Stuart Broad will be present at the event, accompanied by his father, former England cricketer Chris Broad.

Father’s Pride and Reflection

Chris Broad expressed his pride and is delighted with the announcement.

 "I'm delighted that the Nottinghamshire Committee decided that Stuart should be remembered in this way. To have an end named after him is a complete delight. It was quite surreal, the first time I visited Trent Bridge this year, to hear the announcement that the bowler was bowling from the Stuart Broad End."

Stuart Broad's illustrious career includes 167 Test matches for England, in which he took 604 wickets.

His home ground, Trent Bridge, holds special memories, including his historic 8/15 spell against Australia in the 2015 Ashes.

Broad's last appearance at Trent Bridge was during a home series against New Zealand, where he picked up five wickets in the match.
