"After a thorough consultation with my close ones, I’ve decided to retire from International & First Class Cricket. Big thank you to PCB, my family, coaches, mentors, teammates, fans, and everyone who supported me. 🙏 I would continue playing domestic white ball & franchise 🏏"

Sohail's most memorable outing in international cricket came against India, in the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup. The pacer rattled India's top and middle order batting, claiming five wickets which include scalps of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Suresh Raina, MS Dhoni, and Ajinkya Rahane.

A while back, the Pakistan pacer mocked the former Indian captain, Kohli, with an apparent anecdote from the 2015 World Cup match. He also discredited the Indian star for his famous consecutive maximum off Haris Rauf in Melbourne in 2022.

The Malakand-born recently featured in the inaugural US Masters T10 League 2023, where he represented New York Warriors, and claimed five wickets in the final against Texas Chargers.
