Shubman Gill Powers Titans To Big Win Vs KKR

Gujarat Titans pulverised defending champions KKR by 39 runs at the Eden Gardens in match 39 of the IPL 2025 season. Batting first, half-centuries from captain Shubman Gill (90 off 55) and opening batter Sai Sudharsan (52 off 36) and a sizzling 23-ball 41* from Jos Buttler lifted the Titans to a monumental 198-3 from 20 overs.

In response, KKR accrued just 159-8, with captain Ajinkya Rahane waging the lone rebellion in the run-chase by cracking a swift 36-ball 50. Purple Cap holder Prasidh Krishna extended his season tally to 16 wickets by picking figures of 2-25. Senior spinner Rashid Khan also dismissed dangermen Sunil Narine and Andre Russell to break KKR’s momentum.

Sai Sudharsan Snatches Orange Cap From Pooran

The cricketer picked up five wickets to envelop Zimbabwe for 273, limiting Bangladesh’s first-innings deficit down to just 82 runs after the visitors had reached 193-5 around the halfway stage of the day. For Zimbabwe, opener Brian Bennett and senior man Sean Williams listed confident half-centuries.

In response, Bangladesh scored 57-1 from 13 overs by stumps on Day 2, with opener Mahmudul Hasan Joy (28* off 42) and Mominul Haque (15* off 26) batting at the crease. The hosts will resume their second innings finding themselves just 25 runs behind Zimbabwe.

BCCI Announce Central Contract List

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) officially announced the annual central contract list of the Indian men’s team for the 2024-25 season. As many as 34 players were roped in by the board, with senior pros like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja finding themselves placed in the A+ category.

Mohammed Siraj, KL Rahul, Hardik Pandya among others were placed in Category A, while T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav headlined the B category. Around 19 players were placed in Category C, including first-timers Abhishek Sharma, Harshit Rana, Nitish Kumar Reddy and Varun Chakravarthy.

Sanju Samson To Miss Royals’ Match Vs RCB

Rajasthan Royals skipper Sanju Samson is set to miss his team’s upcoming away IPL 2025 fixture against the RCB in Bengaluru on April 24. The cricketer is still recovering from the side injury he sustained earlier this season, and is expected to stay back in Jaipur to continue his rehab with the medical staff.

Samson also missed Rajasthan Royals’ previous match against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), prompting Riyan Parag to lead the team instead.
