The much-awaited India-Pakistan clash is finally underway at the iconic R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Pakistan won the toss and elected to bowl first and though Rohit Sharma said at the toss that he wanted to bat first only, he announced a playing XI that was quite a shock. KL Rahul came into the playing XI in place of Shreyas Iyer, who according to Rohit suffered back spasm.

Now, an original team sheet has come out where Shreyas Iyer was part of the playing XI and KL Rahul was named as the 12th man with Ishan Kishan retaining his place.

So, there is only one change in the Indian side that played a group stage match against Pakistan on 4th of September. It would be interesting to see how KL Rahul goes about his business after a long injury layoff and going by the original team list, it seems that Ishan Kishan has now inched ahead in the race for a wicketkeeper spot. Ishan has been in great form lately and scored a brilliant 82 under pressure in the group stage game against Pakistan.

It promises to be a cracking encounter with two quality teams battling out and let's hope that Colombo weather stays kind and cricket continues to take the centrestage.
