During the IPL 2025 match between LSG and GT at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Stadium in Lucknow, fans were left surprised by an unusual sight near the boundary line. Cheerleaders of the Titans were seen dancing inside small, metallic enclosures covered with nets which looked more like a cage.

The IPL 2025 season is going on in full swing with entertaining clashes panning out every day. However, controversies have surrounded the league after an usual sighting at the LSG-GT game.

LSG hosted GT at the Ekana Stadium but the cheerleaders’ placement triggered outrage.

GT Cheerleaders Dance In Cage With Protection

As LSG battled GT in the 26th match of the IPL 2025 season at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Stadium in Lucknow, the visiting team’s cheerleaders were given a protected podium to dance. The place was covered with metal enclosures and appeared like a cage.

In total, six such enclosures were set up near the boundary ropes. Three were used by the home team LSG, who had male drummers instead of cheerleaders.

The other three were occupied by the GT cheerleaders, who performed to Bollywood and Bhojpuri tunes. To ensure their safety, security personnel, including a female police officer, were stationed nearby, especially around the West Stand.

Officials from the UP cricket board said the decision to use these cages might have been due to previous incidents where fans allegedly threw bottles or other objects at the cheerleaders. While the intention was to protect the performers, many feel it could have been handled differently.

LSG Beat GT In Tricky Chase

Meanwhile, LSG trashed GT to win the 26th game of IPL 2025. Batting first, Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill’s 120-run partnership helped GT put 180 runs on board. However, Aiden Markram and Nicholas Pooran gave a befitting reply in the chase as their individual fifties helped LSG seal a 6-wicket win.
