Sanju Samson was part of India's victorious T20 World Cup campaign but could not get a game. Overall too, he has been in and out of the Indian side throughout his career, and now again, even though, he has scored runs in Zimbabwe and his last ODI series in South Africa, his place in the Indian side is not guaranteed.

The RR captain though remains a popular figure and his selection has always been a matter of big debate. Now, in a podcast full of shocking revelations, Amit Mishra has said that he does not see Sanju Samson playing the next T20 World Cup unless he does exceptionally well.

He stated that Sanju Samson is quite old and added that selectors and team management tend to look at younger players in T20Is. He then went onto add that the concept that old people cannot play T20Is was also introduced by Virat Kohli and took a dig at him that Virat himself is now 35.

"I don't think so. He is old now. There is such a heavy influx of youngsters in the team this concept was introduced by Virat Kohli – that in T20Is, young players perform more, India need them more. He himself is 35."

Sanju Samson though is still 29, and would be hoping that he gets consistent chances from hereon and he ends up delivering big at the international stage.
