The major cities representing the six ISPL teams are Hyderabad, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, and Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir).

The co-owners for all teams also happen to be some of the biggest superstars from India’s entertainment industry, featuring Ram Charan (Hyderabad), Amitabh Bachchan (Mumbai), Hrithik Roshan (Bengaluru), Suriya (Chennai), Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan (Kolkata) and Akshay Kumar (Srinagar).

Sachin Tendulkar, who is a core committee member of the ISPL, claimed that co-owners will play a huge role in realising the tournament’s core vision of nurturing emerging cricketing talents. While speaking at the ISPL event, he said:

“The Co-Owners will play an important part in realising ISPL’s core vision of encouraging and finding emerging cricketing talent through a professional league format with a tennis ball. I wish them all the best as they embark on this new association with the game.”

The inaugural season of the ISPL will likely commence in March this year, with matches set to be staged in Mumbai. The tournament will follow the template of a professional league and will be played in T10 format.
