In groundbreaking speculation, Rohit Sharma, India's present ODI and Test captain, could leave Mumbai Indians (MI) before the start of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. As reported by Sports Yaari, Rohit is 'most probably' joining Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) ahead of the upcoming edition, which will make the five-time champions' job easy regarding their retention and RTM strategy.

Hardik Pandya To Stay As MI Captain

The report further added that Hardik Pandya will remain Mumbai Indians (MI) captain in IPL 2025. This means Hardik will have Suryakumar Yadav, India's full-time T20I captain under Gautam Gambhir, as a team member.

Jasprit Bumrah and Tilak Varma are expected to stay, while the decisions regarding Tim David and Ishan Kishan, among many other stars, will take place soon.

Regardless of speculations, it is important to note that nothing has been concrete yet. Now only time will tell what Mumbai Indians will do to solve out the tricky retention policies.
