The Indian team is currently engaged in an intense showdown against Australia on their home turf. Three of the five Test match have already been played and the series is currently levelled at 1-1. With a spot in the WTC final at stake, the last two matches of the series are absolutely important for the both teams.

The fourt Test of the series will start from 26th December at the iconic MCG in Melbourne. Ahead of the match, both India and Australia will hope that their key players are well rested and injury free. However, in a recent video from the practice session of the Indian team at MCG will keep the fans thinking.

Rohit Sharma Injures His Left Knee During Practice Session At MCG

Rohit Sharma was seen removing his gears and sitting down after he hurt his left knee while taking throwdowns from the specialist Daya. The physio was seen bringing the ice pack out and tending to it. The pain was visible on the Indian captain's face.

However, for now the injury does not seem too concering and the physio was seen taking every precaution possible to prevent swelling. There are still more than a couple of days left before the start of the boxing day Test and it is expected that Rohit Sharma will be up and running by then.

In a press conference, Indian pacer Akash Deep also confirmed that the injury is not too concerning.

"Such blows are common when you play cricket. I think this wicket was for white ball which is why the ball was staying low. But these blows are common"- said Akash Deep.

Even though things seem to be under control at present, India will face problems if the pain comes back for the right-handed batter. In the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25, Rohit Sharma has been batting in the middle order and if he has to sit out, India might have to make some changes in their combination to get their strongest playing XI on the field.
