A day after Team India lifted the 2024 T20 World Cup trophy at Barbados, winning member Rishabh Pant to X and shared his appreciation for the Indian support and non-playing staff.

Sharing a picture centered around the T20 silverware and outbound head coach Rahul Dravid, Pant wrote that the dedication and the behind-the-scenes work of the support staff made the difference in India’s historic title triumph in the West Indies this tournament.

Head coach Rahul Dravid and fielding coach T Dilip along with the rest of the non-playing staff members played a key role in India’s historic unbeaten campaign this 2024 T20 World Cup. Dravid, meanwhile, is set to depart from his national coaching duties owing to the expiration of his contract with the BCCI.

In terms of cricketing action, Team India amassed 176-7 courtesy of Virat Kohli’s influential 59-ball 76 and sparkling cameos from Axar Patel and Shivam Dube. Rishabh Pant, who played match-winning knocks against Pakistan, Ireland and Bangladesh earlier in the tournament; failed to get going on the big day as he was dismissed for a two-ball duck by Keshav Maharaj.

Pant’s 2024 T20 World Cup appearance and the preceding IPL 2024 season marked his return to competitive cricket after a gap of nearly 15 months after he sustained multiple injuries due to a near-fatal car accident from December 2022.
