Rishabh Pant gets duped by Haryana cricketer Mrinank Singh

Delhi Capitals (DC) skipper Rishabh Pant has not had the best of times on and off the field lately. Reports suggest that Haryana cricketer Mriyank Singh has deceived Pant. Singh was recently arrested for conning a businessman by offering him watches, gifts, and various accessories cheaper than MRP. The keeper-batter last year filed a complaint against Singh, where the latter's cheque amounting to INR 1.63 crore bounced.

According to Mid-day, Pant stated that Singh had gained his trust by making many references to his cricketer clients and promised him luxury watches and other wearables worth INR 1.63 crore.

The FIR stated, "In January 2021, Mrinank told Pant and Solanki that he had started a business of buying and selling luxury watches, bags, jewellery, etc. He gave references to several cricketers to whom he claimed to have sold the goods. He falsely represented to Pant and his manager that he could procure luxury watches and other accessories for them at good discounts and very cheap prices."

"Believing in the story of the accused, Pant handed over a luxury watch and few jewellery items in the month of Feb 2021 to the accused, that were purchased by him for Rs 65,70,731/- (Sixty Five Lakh Seventy Thousand Seven Hundred Thirty One only) for resale (sic)."

The Roorkee-born wanted a Franck Muller Vanguard Yachting Series watch and paid Rs 36,25,120, and Rs 62,60,000 for a Crazy Colour Watch and a Richard Mille watch, respectively.

Singh was arrested after the Saket court issued a notice to the Arthur Road Jail in Mumbai to present Singh as the Juhu police arrested him about an alleged fraud case worth INR 6 Lakh. He has also cheated a film director and promised many fake deals to various hotels.

Coming to real business, the Pant-led Delhi finished fifth after attainting 14 points from as many games. While DC's skipper has been appointed as India's vice-captain for the T20I series against South Africa.
