Ravichandran Smaran To Replace Manoj Bhandage In RCB's IPL 2025 Squad: Reports

In a significant development coming from RCB camp, there are reports that Manoj Bhandage might miss IPL 2025 due to injury and the franchise is set to sign Ravichandran Smaran as his replacement. Manoj Bhandage was bought by RCB for 30 Lakhs after his exploits at the domestic level for Karnataka and in Maharaja T20 cup, but he is currently in rehab due to a leg injury and is likely to miss half of the matches at this stage.

Domestic Star Ravichadran Smaran Likely To Grab RCB's IPL Contract

Thus, RCB are likely to opt for Ravichandran Smaran who is a powerful left-handed batter and has been in great form in recent times. He smashed his runs at a strike-rate of 212.50 in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024, and was brilliant in Maharaja T20 Cup 2024 where he scored 302 runs in 9 innings.

Also, Smaran's inclusion will help RCB maintain the local Karnataka flavour in their team if Bhandage misses out and can an option at number 3. RCB have decided to go with a renewed side this season, and have named a new captain, Rajat Patidar this season. They have also put a lot of faith on English stars like Phil Salt, Liam Livingstone and Jacob Bethell and would be hoping that they bring home the trophy this season.

RCB made it to the playoffs in the last season but could not go past the Eliminator, and in this season, they will kickstart their IPL 2025 campaign in the curtain raiser against the defending champions, Kolkata Knight Riders.
