Team India had a torrid Asia Cup 2022 campaign, as they were knocked out of the Super Four stage following back-to-back losses against Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

In fact, Rohit Sharma's men lost the Super Four match against the arch-rivals Pakistan by a whisker in a nail-biting contest by five wickets, where the game went into the last over.

However, what was seen as the match-changing moment in the high-pressure contest was when Arshdeep Singh dropped an easy catch of Asif Ali, who got down on one knee for a slog sweep off Ravi Bishnoi's delivery in the 18th over.

After being dropped on 0, Ali went on to play a short but crucial cameo of 16 from 8 balls to help Pakistan chase down the target. The young Punjab left-arm quick was subjected to heavy social media trolling following his dropped catch in the match that India narrowly lost to Pakistan.

Amid the debates on the dropped catch and how it changed the course of the match, Ravi Bishnoi, the young leg spinner came forward and backed his former Punjab Kings' teammate, saying that the fast bowler is one of the bravest persons he has seen in his life.

Speaking to PTI, here's what Ravi Bishnoi said about Arshdeep Singh:

"Arshdeep is one of the bravest boys that I know. After that catch, you saw how he came and bowled at the death. It never looked as if he was perturbed. That's his mental strength."

Dropped Catches are Part & Parcel of the Game: Bishnoi

Barring that dropped catch off Bishnoi's bowling, Arshdeep Singh was terrific with the ball, having finished with 1/27 in 3.5 overs. The 23-year-old didn't let the pressure mount on him as he bowled an outstanding final over while defending 7 runs and took the game to the penultimate delivery.

Weighing in on the same, Bishnoi said dropped catches are 'part and parcel of the game' and anybody could have dropped that catch given the pressure and situation of the game against Pakistan.

"Paaji (Arshdeep Singh) is my dear friend. We all know that dropped catches are part and parcel of the game. It can happen with the best. It could well have been the other way round where he was bowling, and I happened to drop the catch."

The selectors showed faith in Arshdeep Singh following his stellar show with the ball in UAE recently and picked him in India's T20I World Cup squad, set to take place in Australia next month. Bishnoi will also travel to Australia with the team as a backup spinner.
