Quinton de Kock to miss 2 Test matches against India

South Africa’s first choice keeper batsman Quinton de Kock will be missing two out the three Test matches in the upcoming South Africa vs India series. De Kock will be on paternity leave awaiting the birth of his first child. Given the bio-bubble protocols in place for the series along with the Omicron situation, it is very possible that de Kock will play just one match in the Test part of the tour.

However, SA believe that their key left-handed lower-order batsman will be only out for the final game against India. In his place, South Africa would probably go with Kyle Vereynne who debuted against West Indies this year in June. He has not been in a good patch of form, but if not Verreynne, then SA will have to go with uncapped players like Ryan Rickleton.
